Pozycja Robert F. O’Toole SJ, L'unità della teologia di Luca. NewmanaBabacz, Jan (Papieski Fakultet Teologiczny we Wrocławiu, 2002)In the process of formation of convictions the dominant element is thinking, but the elements of volition and affection are present there as well. Sometimes affectionate attitudes may even cause deformation in perception and reasoning. Such phenomena occur with fanatics of all sorts. According to Newman the ways of arriving to the true convictions are many, depending on the given field of interest. In the field of empirical reality the best method will be that of experimentation and practical tests. In the pure mathematics and logics – a priori methods give the best results, but they fail in exploration of concrete beings. In the latter case we arrive to the conclusions and to the assurance not through the gate of syllogisms but by accumulation of probabilities. According to Newman this is the only way to arrive to assurance in the field of religion. It is obvious to the author of “Grammar of Assent” that both in the matters of everyday life and in the scientific problems, but also in the revealed religion, the method of authority is of great value.Pozycja Sesja naukowa „Wyższe szkolnictwo kościelne w Polsce. Mistrzowie duchowości śląskiej: Jakub Boehme, Anioł Ślązak i Daniel Czepko, Wrocław 2001, ss. 241Dec, Ignacy (Papieski Fakultet Teologiczny we Wrocławiu, 2002)Pozycja Wydział teologii katolickiej i ewangelickiej w Uniwersytecie Wrocławskim (1811-1918)Pater, Mieczysław (Papieski Fakultet Teologiczny we Wrocławiu, 2002)The above four papers embrace the whole period of 300 years of academic theology in Wrocław. The occasion for their publication is the 300-th anniversary of the Faculty of Theology in Wrocław. The beginnings of the Faculty may be traced to the Leopold’s Academy (starting from the year 1702) and this situation was continued up to the end of the Second World War, that is to the 1945: the Faculty was functioning as part of the Wrocław University for 243 years. The author of the first paper, Fr. Antoni Kiełbasa, describes the first attempts to found a university in the city of Wrocław, then goes to the creation of the Leopold’s Academy and to the continuation of this academic institution up to the year of 1811 when it was incorporated to the University of Viadrina in the Frankfurt am Oder and thus a new body – the University of Wrocław – began its existence. Mieczysław Pater, the author of the second paper, shows the history of the Faculty of the Catholic Theology and the Faculty of the Protestant Theology at the University of Wroclaw in period 1811-1918. He portrays some famous theologians of these times and some Noble prize winners from the Catholic Theological Faculty. In the third article Teresa Kulak describes the Faculty in times of complex historical processes during the years 1918-1945. In those years Germany saw the birth of the Nazi ideology, and the Faculty experienced numerous conflicts from this reason. The last of this series is the paper of Fr. Ignacy Dec who shows the Wroclaw academic theology after the Second World War. First some attempts to reactivate the presence of the theology in the post-war University are described. Later the history of an independent institution – the Pontifical Theological Faculty is exposed, together with the structure and the achievements of the present form of existence of the Faculty. The particulars of different efforts undertaken lately to incorporate the Pontifical Faculty of Theology in the body of the University of Wrocław end the whole presentation.Pozycja Bóg miłosierny i sprawiedliwyDec, Ignacy (Papieski Fakultet Teologiczny we Wrocławiu, 2002)Pozycja Stosowalność kartografii w katechezieSroczyński, Piotr (Papieski Fakultet Teologiczny we Wrocławiu, 2002)Pozycja Teologia w Akademii Leopoldyńskiej (1702-1811)Kiełbasa, Antoni (Papieski Fakultet Teologiczny we Wrocławiu, 2002)The above four papers embrace the whole period of 300 years of academic theology in Wrocław. Some of the fundamental statements of this anthropology are clearly expressed in John Paul II’ theory of God’s mercy, especially in his encyclical Dives in Misericordia written in 1980. Papal theory of mercy reveals that every human person is susceptible to evil and sin but also has always a chance to rise from the fall. In the process of conversion, a sinner returns to the truth about himself while discovering the borders of his autonomy, the limits of freedom and the fact of total dependence on God who is not a rival of man but a source of life and love. Mercy has also an important social dimension because, unlike strict justice, it is able to transcend the hostility and insensibility between people and build true community. The article provides also some examples (taken from the papal teaching) of the importance of mercy in the political and economic life.Pozycja Być szczęśliwym po chrześcijańskuSiemieniewski, Andrzej (Papieski Fakultet Teologiczny we Wrocławiu, 2002)Pozycja J.A.
