Pozycja 100 lat historii parafii św. Wojciecha w ElbląguHochleitner, Janusz (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2010)Several generations of inhabitants of Elbląg have been brought up in Parish of St. Wojciech. These inhabitants have been living in here within two different political and national structures. Inhabitants speaking German used to form that community for the first 40 years. However, since year 1945 this land has become "New Homeland" for settlers from different parts of pre-war Poland (II Rzeczpospolita). And after year 1989, with transformation by "Round Table", the image of our community changed a bit. Studying the history of this Parish we can see that during past 100 years our Church has integrated with the history of our Region very much. The first priesthood in Elbląg was dedicated to working class. And such peculiarity of this Parish is also established nowadays. Parish of St. Wojciech in Elbląg used to be the part of Diocese of Warmia till year 1992. In fact our Church has concentrated not only religious life but social one as well. This Parish has enabled favourable conditions for development of cultural life, sociable and even public one. But first and foremost the history presents forms of missions of priests and tries to tell us more about specific forms of bigotry in this Region.Pozycja 100-lecie istnienia Starokatolickiego Kościoła Mariawitów (1906-2006)Fidura, Jerzy (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2006)Pozycja A. Buchanan, Better than Human: The Promise and Perils of Enhancing Ourselves, Oxford University Press, Oxford 2011, ss. 199.Ferdynus, Marcin (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2013)Pozycja Aborcja – wyzwolenie czy zbrodnia?Brakoniecki, Mariusz (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2010)From the beginning the Catholic Church has condemned the act of the termination of pregnancy. Such an act is immoral and it is a sin joined with the punishment of excommunication. This punishment concerns the woman who tries to stop pregnancy and the people who persuade her to do that. In spite of many objections, the right of every innocent. human being to live was not respected. It was connected with the problem of the establishment when the embryo becomes a human being. The baby was treated as an object, as “something that makes life difficult”. Abortion has a long history and has been induced by various primitive and cruel methods. With the technological development various methods of abortion appeared. Nowadays they can be divided into two groups pharmacological and surgical. Abortion will never be accepted and treated as moral good even if it is done by innovational methods. None of the circumstances that forced the woman to the termination of pregnancy, will justify her behaviour. Such an interference into her body brings with itself both psychological and physical consequences that might be the source of evil. In order to avoid these alarming phenomenon we should take care of human life and do everything to make it intact. All these actions will help in creating the civilisation of love and life and not the civilisation of death.Pozycja Acedia – śmierć duchowa czy szansa na rozwój?Tanasiewicz, Monika Danuta (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2023)This article aims to present the issue of acedia as a spiritual crisis that can lead to spiritual death, or become a path of growth and transformation towards a more conscious living of one's life. The problem of acedia was the first to be studied by the Desert Father Evagrius Ponticus, who today is considered its greatest theorist and became an inspiration for later authors. Today, many works are being written on the subject, in which acedia is discussed both from the side of psychology and Christian austerity. The article examines the complex issue of acedia, its sources, symptoms and remedies to help combat it. This topic is particularly important in these days so marked by sadness and depression, so it is all the more necessary to study this issue in order to bring help to suffering people.Pozycja Adam Bieranowski, Służebność mieszkania, LexisNexis, Warszawa 2011, ss. 467.Zięty, Jakub Jan (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2011)Pozycja Akcja antykatolicka w Polsce i jej autorzy (1947-1956)Sekściński, Bogdan (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2012)The article investigates the persecution of the Catholic Church in the times of Stalinism, when the political power in Poland was largely centralized in the hands of the Communists of Jewish origin, who were sent by Joseph Stalin from Moscow in order to sovietize Poland. The Catholic Church, which had been defending the sovereignty of Poland for centuries, was treated by Communists as a greatest enemy of their objectives. The article shows the ruthlessness of the Communist regime, whose goal was to weaken the role of the Roman Catholic Church, and to liquidate its leading institutions, such as the Catholic University of Lublin. It concisely presents main assumptions of the “anticlerical action” which was authorized by Hilary Minc and Jakub Berman. The paper contains legal reviews which indicate the illegal behavior of security officers in relation to Catholics, in particular to those of juvenile age. It argues that, with fighting against the Catholicism in Poland, the Communists infringed the law established by themselves. The article is a result of the many months inquiry in several archive institutes in Poland.Pozycja Aksjologiczny rozwój etyczny i jego implikacje duchowe w filozofii Karola WojtyłyPodgórski, Ryszard A. (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2018)The turn of the 20th century saw the origination of a tradition of analysing the nature of values (what is precious and good), i.e. what is value, what is its character? A postulate that explained the ontic status of values, the sources and mechanisms of origination of value, criteria of valuation, classification of values and – in a sociological meaning – the social functioning in culture and individual and social preferences of their accomplishment – all of this was an important issue. Wilhelm Windelband and Heinrich Rickert propagated the concept of axiology. Axiology won its renown thanks to the phenomenology of Edmund Husserl which – through the axiology of Max Scheler and Nicolai Hartmann, Dietrich von Hildebrand – breaks with the scientific anthropological vision of Auguste Comte. Therefore, when referring to phenomenology, Karol Wojtyła creates “adequate anthropology”. This multi-aspect Thomisticphenomenological presentation of the human being by Karol Wojtyła has a significant axiological dimension for the development of spiritual life in the ethical personalism of Karol Wojtyła. This is the basis which we will use to ask the following question in this study: how does axiology influence the ethical and moral behaviour of a human being?Pozycja Aktualne wyzwania w formacji ludzkiej, red. P. Kwiatkowski, Wydawnictwo Gaudentinum, Gniezno 2021, ss. 109.Sieńkowski, Marcin (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2021)Pozycja Analiza aktywności pastoralnej online w czasie pandemii COVID-19 na przykładzie diecezji ełckiejPawlina, Mariusz (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2022)The Covid-19 pandemic caused changes in all areas of society, including the religious sphere. A number of activities moved to the internet. Despite the difficulties, the Church did not stop proclaiming the Good News during this time and continued much of it online in order to remain connected to the believers. In this article, the Author used the magisterial method and content analysis of websites and social media, as well as a categorisation of online pastoral work during the pandemic period. The field of analysis was the Diocese of Elk. The Author presented a case study of Y major online activities of clergy and the laity during this time. These were: charity, evangelisation, catechesis, culture, prayer, Holy Masses and religious services, Holy Scripture, retreats and news. To provide a nationwide context, he also cites quantitative nationwide studies in relation to online broadcasting of Mass and Polesʼ engagement in spiritual life during the pandemic.Pozycja Analiza współczesnego i poszukiwanie nowego modelu formacji kapłańskiej w WSD w EłkuSkowronski, Antoni (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2017)The institution responsible for the preparation of candidates for priestly ordination is the seminary. The Ełk Diocese Seminary has been engaged in priestly formation since 16 April 1992. It applies the guidelines of the magisterium of the Church and the local tradition and customs, resulting from the specific conditions of the Church of Ełk. The article analyses the profiles of candidates, who join the seminary and the changing religious, cultural and sociological conditions. It presents the current system and model of formation at WSD in Ełk and proposals for changes and developments of that model in the future. The philosophy of the seminary’s further activities contains the need to shift the emphasis from “formation for priesthood” to “priestly formation”. It enumerates concrete proposals and methods, which are worth considering and possibly including in the future formation practice, in order to fulfill the “integral formation” postulate. The content is enriched with the analysis of the questionnaires filled out by the clerics.Pozycja Andreas Englisch, Habemus Papam. Von Johannes Paul II. zu Benedikt XVI, Wydawnictwo: C. Contributo allo studio del discepolato nel contesto della parentela con Gesù nel Vangelo di Marco, Romae 2002, ss. 191.Rosik, Mariusz (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2006)Pozycja Apostolat maryjny i eschatyczny jako dominanta duszpasterskiego charyzmatu św. Stanisława Papczyńskiego (1631-1701)Sawicki, Ryszard (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2017)Saint Stanislaus Papczynski has a place among the most remarkable Polish personalities of the 16th century, to which his life, pastoral work and literary legacy are all a testament. He was a holy monk, a valued teacher, a great worshipper of Virgin Mary, a preacher and a confessor who cared greatly for the profound spiritual development of the human being, as well as the founder of the Congregation of Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary – the first religious order for men in Poland. The article presents the pastoral charisma of Saint Stanislaus Papczyński, whose dominant characteristic was Marian and eschatic apostolate.Pozycja Apostolstwo – jedną z form realizacji życia chrześcijańskiego w Kościele w nauczaniu ks. Kazimierza HamerszmitaBrozio, Dariusz (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2008)Pozycja Apteka jako alegoryczny obraz świata. XVII-wieczne malowidła z klasztoru pijarów w RzeszowieJagla, Jowita (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2013)The article is focused on 17. century ceiling paintings in the Piarist monastery pharmacy in Rzeszow. In that time the city itself and its surroundings had a pretty coherent and rich pharmaceutical tradition. From 16. century there was observable a rapid origin of pharmacies in Przemysl, Jaroslaw, Lancut, Biecz, Krosno, Przeworsk, Sanok and Rzeszow. Unfortunately, the first partition of Poland was followed by the collapse of pharmacies and the closedown of a large part of them. The next wave of the decline of pharmacies came by the end of 18. century together with the cancel of the Jesuits and other religious orders which used to lead pharmacies. At the same time very the supply of pharmaceutical personnel from the Jagiellonian University in Krakow started to decrease. The Piarist monastery pharmacy became a historical monument of Rzeszow and its fine art. What undoubtedly creates the beauty and magical mood of the pharmacy are exceptional paintings which cover the barrel-vault and its surroundings in the main hall. They were discovered when the monastery buildings was transformed for the museum in 1958-1962. The performer of that thematically rich polychrome created in 1688-1697 is a painter of the great talent, Wojciech Ziemecki (Limecki), who took the religious name of Luke. His Rzeszow paintings have already been analyzed and described by J. Swieboda, L. Czyz, D. Drag, T. Drupka and I. Ziewiec. However, the authoress claims that the quantity of themes and the specificity of approaches make that they need some fresh perspective which was not gained by former interpretations.Pozycja Aquinas on Philosophy as Prudent Desire, Pursuit, and Job of the Wise Man and Culture: To Understand First Principles and Causes of the Whole Truth about EverythingRedpath, Peter A. (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2024)This article defends the thesis that, according to St. Thomas Aquinas, when the Ancient Greeks and other Mediterranean cultures prior to them had first started to philosophize, engage in science, they had done so as parts of an individual and community team enterprise. They were convinced that all human beings have a moral duty as rational animals to philosophize – prudentially to wonder about the most universal causes about everything. Considering themselves essentially to be a ‘world-community of prudential wonderers’, they first conceived of philosophy, science, to be a psychological act of prudential wondering practiced by a world-wide community of people. In starting this organization, this world community shared a common, prudent chief aim: to help free the entire known-world from the damaging effects they had commonly recognized brute-animal ignorance causes. They were convinced that an imprudent people can never become philosophical or scientific. St. Thomas maintains that their natural desire to satisfy their wonder about the chief subject, aim, efficient and final cause of the existence, behavior, and truth of everything must have included understanding God. Having this included as part of its chief subject and aim caused them to understand the job of every philosopher chiefly to be what philosophy is for anyone who understands its proper nature: to bring into existence First Philosophy, Metaphysics’ – ‘the most divine and honorable science’!Pozycja Archiwa kościelne na ziemiach zachodnich i północnych a badania regionalneKopiczko, Andrzej (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2017)The article presents the history of creation and organization of the archives in the western and northern territory of Poland (the recovered territories), as well as preparation of staff to work in these institutions. Much space is devoted to the use of the collections for scientific work and the most important publications about the region are listed. Also, the role of these archives in the teaching process at universities or in the dissemination of knowledge is pointed out. Church archives in the western and northern territory have also become the institutions integrating and connecting the two communities – the German one (inhabitating the territory before 1945) and the Polish one. Employees of these archives as ones of the first alluded cooperation with former residents, who found a new homeland in western Germany, answer the questions about genealogical research or participate in a number of scientific symposia. Meetings organized for youth and school children and training courses prepared for students are also an important measure of the commitment of church archives in the regional sense. Creation of good conditions for the storage of records and development of resources made implementation of these tasks easier. Extensive cooperation has also appeared after the erection of the Universities of Szczecin, Opole and Olsztyn.Pozycja Archiwariusz. Biuletyn Archiwum Archidiecezjalnego w Poznaniu, 1(2005), ss. 180.Guzewicz, Wojciech (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2007)Pozycja Aresztowanie ks. Stanisława MaciątkaGuzewicz, Wojciech; Moszczyński, Leszek (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2018)This article presents the events preceding the first arrest of Father Stanisław Maciątek in 1939 and subsequent arrest. The ceremony of introducing to Wiżajny a copy of the image of Our Lady of the Gate of Dawn is described in detail which, as one might think, influenced the further course of events. An attempt was made to gather knowledge about the immediate perpetrators of the arrests and their connections to the German diversionary and spy network. It shows how their subsequent fate followed after 2nd world war.
