Pozycja Aeterni Patris i Fides et ratio. Rola i znaczenie filozofii w kontekście dyskusji między wiarą i rozumemZieliński, Jacek (Papieski Wydział Teologiczny we Wrocławiu, 2019)The article focuses on the role and significance of philosophy in the discourse between faith and reason is the main focus of the article. Two encyclicals: Aeterni Patris by Leo XIII and Fides et Ratio by John Paul II are the basic texts analysed here. Both popes, pointing to the necessity of restoration of philosophical education on every level of its functioning, describe advantages connected with its development. To expose significance and contribution of philosophical teaching, the author considers four principal assumptions of the ‘way of wisdom’: experience, wonder, doubt and the lack of suppositions. Then, he characterises the essence of philosophical theology – in distinction to mythical and political theology – as the road of searching the answer to the question about arche, the question about the essence of the divine (to theion). The last part of the article discusses the attitude of Leo XII and John Paul II to the possible symbiosis between philosophy and theology, their mutual relations as well as relations between faith and reason that enrich both philosophy and theology and enable one to avoid false convictions (doksai).Pozycja O urzeczywistnienie syntezy wiary chrześcijańskiej z kulturą według św. Jana Pawła IIZarzycki, Stanisław T. (Papieski Wydział Teologiczny we Wrocławiu, 2019)The article focuses on the problem of dissonance between Christian faith and contemporary culture which the Fathers of the Second Vatican Council and the popes (Paul VI and John Paul II) pointed out calling for overcoming it and suggesting the adequate solutions. In the first part the author introduces the term and understanding of faith and culture as explained by John Paul II. Then, he considers the drama of the dissonance between Christian faith and culture pointing to its causes and consequences. He takes into account the papal diagnosis of the culture (not only European one) and challenges regarding the world that face the Church. In the second part the author considers the connections between culture and faith and vice versa, and he discusses the intermediary and coactive role of culture in regard to faith and the inculturation of faith as a way to obtain the synthesis of faith and culture.Pozycja Jan Paweł II a Czarna Madonna z Jasnej Góry. Refleksje lingwistyczno-kulturologiczneWęgorowska, Katarzyna (Papieski Wydział Teologiczny we Wrocławiu, 2019)The article contains reflections on John Paul II’s exceptional attitude towards Mary venerated in the icon of Our Lady of Częstochowa. This relationship is described on the basis of testimonies taken from interdisciplinary studies. The article includes descriptions of the Pope’s pilgrimages to the Jasna Góra shrine, pieces of his speeches, titles which he bestows on Our Lady of Częstochowa, proper names of places and buildings of Jasna Góra connected with the Polish Pope. The article also chatacterises the votive offerings that John Paul II gave to the Mother of God. All this enables one to reconstruct those excerpts of the Pope’s biography which concern Jasna Góra, the shrine of particular devotion of our people to the Queen of Poland.Pozycja „Adamie, przyjmij promieniowanie ojcostwa, Adamie – stań się dzieckiem”. Studium dramatu Karola Wojtyły pt. Promieniowanie ojcostwaBednarczyk-Stefaniak, Emanuela (Papieski Wydział Teologiczny we Wrocławiu, 2019)The article presents a study of Karol Wojtyla’s drama entitled Radiation of Fatherhood. It is an attempt to penetrate and describe the inner experiences of the main hero Adam and other literary characters in accordance with the phenomenological method used by the author himself. This method consists in accessing the protagonist’s thoughts and the state of his consciousness and self-awareness in order to present the reflections he has made while getting to know himself and others as well as to show how the speaking subject internalises the content that he learns. The statement of the mystery’s protagonist: ‘For many years I have lived like a man exiled from my deeper personality yet condemned to probe it’ is the starting point of the action outlined in the literary text. This statement allows of the thesis that Wojtyla meditates on how the hero is slowly becoming aware of the transcendent dimension of humanity lost from the field of view, the objective truth about the human person.Pozycja Prawda. Dobro. Piękno. W kręgu literackich i nieliterackich wartości zapisanych w wypowiedziach Jana Pawła II wygłoszonych we Wrocławiu (21 czerwca 1983; 31 maja – 1 czerwca 1997)Seul, Anastazja (Papieski Wydział Teologiczny we Wrocławiu, 2019)The author of the article The Truth. The Goodness. The Beauty. On Literary and Non-literary Values Present in Pronouncements of John Paul II Made in Wroclaw (21 June 1983; 31 May – 1 June 1997) strongly suggests that fundamental values of the European culture such as truth, goodness and beauty are truly the very focus of John Paul II’s pastoral attention. Each of these values are presented in two aspects: horizontal and vertical. The first aspect enables one to see that a human person can experience their value and can truly develop when they encounter another person in common care for truth, goodness and beauty. As for vertical aspect, it emphasises the transcendental dimension that is clearly present in John Paul II’s pronouncements. His teaching, which appreciates humanistic values, also points out that a man will fully develop their humanity only when they turn toward their Creator. God and a man meet each other on ways of truth, goodness and beauty.Pozycja Fuimus sacerdotes, fuit templum. „RYSopis kapłana” w wypowiedziach ankietowych księży AD 2018Radziszewski, Stefan (Papieski Wydział Teologiczny we Wrocławiu, 2019)The priest’s description. The image of a priest in Polish culture in the 21st century (2018) is a collection of twelve texts that answer the questionnaire about the image of a priest in contemporary culture, film and media. Statements of priests dealing with literature, art and science are a testimony of faith of the generation of Polish priests that was shaped under the influence of saint John Paul II. The priests represent different environments, which is why the polyphony of the priest’s credo reflects well the problems and divisions of the contemporary Church. This is also the right starting point for the reflection on the vocation, the sense of priestly ministry in the modern world and fidelity to the teaching of saint John Paul II.Pozycja Inspiracje myślą Jacques’a Maritaina w koncepcji narodu Karola Wojtyły – Jana Pawła IIKapias, Michał; Polok, Grzegorz (Papieski Wydział Teologiczny we Wrocławiu, 2019)The concept of the nation in Karol Wojtyła’s (John Paul II’s) thought was the result not only of his academic work, but also of his own cultural, historical and social and political experiences. John Paul II enriched his experiences with intellectual insights. In this regard, he often drew from reflections of Jacques Maritain, under whose influence many countries in Europe, in the United States and in Latin America were. The latter’s solutions in the field of social and political philosophy significantly influenced the decisions of the Second Vatican Council, of which he himself was a participant. It turns out that both intellectuals shared similar foundations for understanding the nation and its sustainability. First of all, they paid attention to the fundamental role of the human person. As a personal being, he or she enters into relationships with other people creating a community. The common good that every person should care for is an element that unites all people. According to Maritain, this unity is revealed in a category of ‘integral humanism’, while John Paul II pointed to the ‘theory of participation’. Both agreed that the subjective dignity of people creating a national community is a foundation of a nation.Pozycja „On jeden nieśmiertelny, prosty i boski” – romantyczna symbolika krzyża w Renesansowym psałterzu Karola WojtyłyMakarewicz, Jan (Papieski Wydział Teologiczny we Wrocławiu, 2019)The cross is one of the most important motifs in Karol Wojtyla’s poems and in his latter papal teaching. The article analyses the symbolism of the cross present in the sonnets included in The Renaissance psalter by Karol Wojtyła from a romantic perspective. The influence of Zygmunt Krasiński and Cyprian Norwid whose works provided inspiration for Wojtyla is of particular importance here. The author of The Renaissance psalter appreciated The Un-Divine Comedy, Irydion and Promethidion, together with The New Middle Ages of Nikolai Berdyaev – those youthful reading experiences left a clear trace in his sonnets, which is noticeable in the symbolism of the cross, among other things. Krasinski’s ideas are echoed particularly distinctively in the last sonnet that shows the dialogue of three columns among the ruins of the ancient world, even though the word ‘cross’ has not been used at all. As for Promethidion, Wojtyła borrowed the idea of the cross from it as the principle of unity of the world – the cross which enables the unification of a pagan and Christian culture, a gothic and renaissance element.Pozycja „Siostra” – brulionowy tekst Karola WojtyłyKozłowska, Anna (Papieski Wydział Teologiczny we Wrocławiu, 2019)The article concerns the short text The Sister by Karol Wojtyła. In documents of the Archives of the Metropolitan Curia in Cracow it was attached to the first version of the poem Redemption Seeking Your Form to Enter Man’s Anxiety. The aim of the article is to present this work, to describe the author’s emendations in the manuscript and to determine the status of the text. Finally, The Sister turns out to be not a version of the poem about Weronica, but rather a separate text, a draft on the same subject as the later poem Redemption Seeking Your Form…Pozycja Jan Paweł II jako promotor „nowego feminizmu”Giemza, Bogdan (Papieski Wydział Teologiczny we Wrocławiu, 2019)The author reflects upon and portrays the history and sense of the term ‘the new feminism’. It was the Pope who introduced the phrase to the philosophical- theological terminology. He applied it to women and encouraged them to become its promoters. Since John Paul II didn’t explicitly define the meaning of the term, discovering its sense through the contexts in which “the new feminism” appears, has proven necessary. Therefore the article analyses the Pope’s teaching associated with the theology of the body and the theology of marriage and family, as well as his teaching about the contemporary threats concerning particularly human sexuality. The changes associated with the human sexuality, which have not only been proposed, but are also being implemented, affect the fundamental truth about the human as a man and a woman. These changes have consequences for the existence of marriage and family, and for the social life as well. In such a context of civilization transformations, an appeal of the Pope for promoting the new feminism is becoming understandable. The issues connected with this term are topical, therefore, the last part of the article focuses on some cases which should become an object of further research.Pozycja „Własny dar” sakramentu małżeństwa w katechezach Jana Pawła IIDalibor, Maciej (Papieski Wydział Teologiczny we Wrocławiu, 2019)This article presents the papal theology of the body within the scope which concerns the sacramental grace given to a man and a woman in the marriage. This grace, in a special way, concerns relationships created by a man because it is they that were deprived of the basic dimension of the unselfish gift by original sin. This gift was given to a man by the Creator and on the basis of this gift the man had to share himself with another human being. The incarnation of the Son of God was God’s response to the mistrust that undermined the communion of God with a man, together with the essential human communion, that is, the marriage. Through the sacraments we have access to the fruits of the Passover of Christ. In the sacrament of marriage these fruits enable people to enter again into a dimension of the selfless gift of the self given to another person.Pozycja Od sportu do turystyki górskiej. Tatrzańskie akcenty w wypowiedziach Jana Pawła II podczas pielgrzymek do ojczyznyAst, Anna (Papieski Wydział Teologiczny we Wrocławiu, 2019)John Paul II extended the theological and philosophical background of sport much more than any of his predecessors in the Holy See. In his speeches and homilies he referred to the broadly defined physical culture and engaged in sport issues. During his youth, he was interested in tourism (especially in the Tatras nature), canoeing and football. His attitude towards sport did not change when he became a priest or a bishop. He later became a tourist pope. Sport and tourism combine cognitive goals with an equivalent physical effort. This article focuses on threads related to sport and mountain tourism that are selected from Pope John Paul II’s speeches delivered during his pilgrimages to the homeland.
