The amount of family income is a factor conditioning the size and structure of consumption. It is also a determinant of a family’s behavior, as it enables to satisfy the basic human needs and it is an essential element of the quality of each family’s life. Income also affects the relationship between both spouses, parents and children. Household budget also generates development and education of children, it allows or restricts their perspectives for the future. Difficult financial situation of Polish families imposes limitations on the basic consumption needs.

Systems organizing education have always been connected with functioning of the social system. Gaining new expertise and, consequently, achieving higher social status, is connected with education. The directives of the Ministry of National Education (MEN) favor adjusting school to the changing environment and school needs. The teacher of a particular subject makes a decision concerning the choice of a student’s book, which is included in the books set for a given year by the headmaster of the school and approved by teachers’ board. MEN has lately worked on preparing e-student’s books for every subject and level of teaching in order to limit the costs of purchasing new student books and adapt students to the needs of the changing world on the basis of new technologies of transmitting information.

The composer, Franz Tunder (1614-1664), during the 25 years of his serving as an organist and musical life animator in St. Mary’s Church in Lübeck, was a forerunner of the last generation of the Hanseatic Baroque and a great master of this style. He created organ masterpieces and vocal-instrumental compositions. One of them is a church concerto composed to the Protestant adaptation of the Latin lyrics of Salve Regina antiphon, it is Salve coelestis Pater masterpiece for solo bass, violin and basso continuo. The author of this article, as an educated singer (bass, basso profondo voice) and theologist (Catholic priest), indicates the connections between word and music in the broadly conceived performative aspect. Starting with the theological analysis of the verbal text he points out the rhetorical meaning of the broadly conceived musical measures, in particular the ones present in the melodic line of the solo bass voice.

The article is an attempt at presenting the spirituality and attitude of mercy in the life of St. John Bosco, the founder of the Society of St. Francis de Sales (the Salesians), in the perspective of the Holy Year of Mercy celebrated by the whole Church in the year 2015/2016. The first part of the article raises the issue of experiencing mercy from God and people by St. John Bosco. The second part discusses the ministry of mercy which the Saint performed as a priest as well as the Father and Teacher of the youth. The last part constitutes a quest for the topicality of mercy with regard to the contemporary process of upbringing children and youth in the Salesian charism established by St. John Bosco.

In 2010, a decision was made to dedicate one of the side altars in the Ląd church (Fig. 1) to the Martyrs of World War II: the priests imprisoned in Ląd and the “Poznan Five”. Between 2011 and 2013, following the concept of Father Janusz Nowiński SDB, a painter and sculptor Janusz Szpyt made new elements of the altar: two new paintings and an antependium (Figs. 2-4). Father Janusz Nowiński commissioned a composer Paweł Łukaszewski to write a musical piece Dominus Regit Me. Psalm 23, whose first performance took place in Ląd on 28 October 2013 (Figs. 5-6). It was composed for baritone and musical ensemble. In 2014, Paweł Łukaszewski incorporated Psalm 23 into the score of the Requiem he was composing for the Welsh Presteigne Festival (Great Britain). Paweł Łukaszewski’s Requiem had its first performance at the Presteigne Festival on 20 August 2014. The score of the Requiem was published in 2014 by the Polskie Wydawnictwo Muzyczne.

More and more families and children brought up in the titular centres are at risk of exclusion, which makes it difficult for them to develop and fully participate in social life. An effective form of preventing the reasons and effects of exclusion is active work of daily care and support centres. Forms of work, aims and tasks of those centres are presented on the basis of an original model of the main areas of activity which support social inclusion addressed to particular people, their families, persons and institutions cooperating with the child, his or her family and general, especially local, society. The article, moreover, proposes actions in the area of legislation, education, media as well as presents suggestions regarding cultural and recreational offer.

Undertaking the issue of God’s Wisdom, A. Szeptycki wanted to penetrate its essence and its meaning for the created world. However, he put the main emphasis on the attitude of man towards this Wisdom from the perspective of human self-realization in life. As a rational being, man retains responsibility for opening to all spiritual and nondefinable values coming from God in order to understand and to justify his aspirations and acting based on life wisdom. The latter, in turn, can only be implemented in everyday life when man appeals and relies on God’s Wisdom.
Struktura motywacji artystów interpretujących – efektywnych zawodowo

This article presents the results of research on the specific structure of motivation among creative, artistically gifted persons, who achieve various levels of professional effectiveness. Based on the assumptions of psycho-transgression and efficacy concepts, it was assumed that persons achieving different job performance would vary with respect to the intensity of characteristics determining the Creative Behavior Style [Styl Twórczego Zachowania (STZ)], and their actions would be dynamized by numerous types of similar motivation. In order to verify the hypotheses, a group of interpreting artists (interpreters): 73 choristers, 38 dancers, and 22 musicians was investigated. The results are consistent with the hypotheses.

The notion of basic life needs is of evaluative nature and, depending on socio-cultural conditions, it can be interpreted differently. The most frequently encountered type of alimony avoidance is the one committed by parents against their children. Therefore, the article mentions, in particular, the issue of justified needs of children. These are needs satisfaction of which allows the child to live in conditions corresponding to their age, health condition and education. This does not regard only securing the minimal existential needs. If the child has a passion, special talents that they want to develop, securing these needs must be also considered as basic.

The present research is aimed at defining the determinants of chronic fatigue in young women. It was assumed that important mechanisms behind developing chronic fatigue consist in low noetic dimension of personality. 143 students aged between 19 and 24 were examined. The study was based on the Existential Noo-dynamic Test (ND-E) constructed by K. Popielski. Women with chronic fatigue have a low level of noetic dynamics. Fatigue is significantly associated with the lack of affirmation of life and the lack of acceptance of life. Fatigue in women is to a significant degree associated with lack of perseverance in achieving challenging targets and fear of responsibility for one’s actions.

The global financial crisis of 2008 was one of the biggest in the history and it brought about enormous losses both on the economic and social plane. The aim of the article is to assess to what extent ethical considerations are present in literature on the causes of the global financial crisis. It is argued that despite the destructive role of unethical behaviors of numerous business entities as well as CEOs in the financial sector which set the stage for the global financial crisis, the ethical aspects of the financial crisis remain neglected. The author concludes that the paradigms of economic and management sciences should be revised and that they should be embedded in ethics.

The article introduces the Blue Cards data of the District Police Headquarters in Żyrardów from the period of 2012-2015. It concentrates on such issues as: the number of completed forms of Blue Cards over the mentioned period of time, the domicile of persons filling them up, the profile of victims and perpetrators of domestic violence, the number of domestic violence perpetrators detained by the police, perpetrators under the influence of alcohol and types of violence and the help offered to victims. Selected issues from the empirical part were compared with the earlier research conducted by the Author in the discussed subject area.

This article refers to selected issues related to the pedagogic competence of a musician-teacher. Every musician undertaking work in education comes across a lot of problems. It is essential to possess theoretical knowledge concerning both the child, his development and capabilities, as well as the very person of a pedagogue. Dynamization of the child’s capabilities and potential depends on the teacher’s personal qualities. The issues raised in this article concern the ways of developing teacher’s personality, his building of authority and the ability to discover the meaning of his pedagogic activity.

The only oratorio of Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Christ on the Mount” has been thoroughly researched and one would expect that there is no aspect of this work requiring further examination. However, all the detailed analyses lack what a holistic approach to this composition may offer. It is definitely worthwhile to place the Vienna classic’s oratorio in the broader context of historical changes and his personal experience as well as to make an attempt at establishing the tradition of the German oratorio and juxtaposing the formal structure of van Beethoven’s piece against the reality of the epoch. This subject matter is the essence of the essay to be followed by a more comprehensive study. In the next article we will speculate on the oratorio lyrics and their relation to musical structures in a more analytical way.
