    Evangelizzazione e sacramento della penitenza
Nykiel, Krzysztof (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2022)
The new cultural scenarios which are more and more secularized, very plural and strongly influenced by the digital culture, in front of old and new challenges require the precise choices in life, in particular the Christian one. Let us usk, what place does the Christian faith occupy in them? This question deserves an adequate answer that the Church intends to offer by proposing a renewal of the ecclesial journey that focuses on the evangelization of cultures but also of Christian life itself and of sacramental pastoral care. This contribution highlights the ancient and ever new relationship between evangelization and the sacrament of Penance, framing it in the intrinsic connection between Word of God and Sacrament, between faith and the sacraments of faith that innervate the concrete Christian experience of individuals and communities. In this scenario, the Sacrament of Penance, adequately evangelized, understood and well celebrated, plays a twofold role: that of making practicable the merciful love of God that prevents, welcomes, forgives and restores life, and the more specifically “missionary” role that translates the witness of a renewed and merciful life of the penitent into an authentic evangelizing action, the heart of which is represented by the message of the revolution of divine tenderness that makes all things new. Individual believers and communities draw from the Sacrament of Penance the strength of God’s merciful love, which heals and resurrects, and re-proposes the Christian life as the most beautiful adventure to be experienced, since forgiveness asked for and received becomes the highest school where love is welcomed as a gift which, in turn, must always be given.

The main function of judicial themes in art is the representation of justice. This article examines the problem of the dialogue of law, religion and art on the example of the image of the Last Judgment, which represents the idea of higher justice, sanctioned by God as the Supreme Judge. On the basis of comparative-historical, semiotic and hermeneutic methods, the question of the genesis and essence of the Christian idea of the Last Judgment was singled out on the basis of narratives of Egyptian and ancient Greek myths and texts of the Holy Scriptures. The main images and symbols of this plot are studied, namely: Christ the Judge, St. Michael, libra and psychostasis. Examples of the Last Judgment in church iconography and art are given.

    Kaznodziejstwo wędrowne George’a Whitefielda
Krauze, Łukasz (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2022)
The itinerary preaching may seem like an outdated form of preaching the Gospel. For many, it is associated primarily with orators living in the nineteenth century. Nothing could be more wrong. The itinerary preaching is still a valid proposition. Just a new “area” must be found. A space where the orator meets listeners for his contemporary times. They would stop, even for a moment, to receive the message about Jesus – the Saviour. The article presents an interesting, and still valid, method of preaching developed by 18th-century preacher George Whitefield. Referring to his texts may to reveal the main features of his preaching workshop. He focuses on the specific structure of a sermon and a relevant content, as well as the dramatic style of preaching. The path he proposes is a current suggestion for today’s preachers of the Word of God.

Teologia dziecięca jako teologia dla dzieci
Kalbarczyk, Adam (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2022)
The contemporary concept of religious education features a postulate which says that when talking with children about God, children should be treated as the subject of theological reflection. It is because children can “go on” about God, theologize, create their own theodicy and interpret the world around them in their own way. On the basis of such experiences and postulates, a new theological discipline called children’s theology – practised for many years at universities in western Europe – was created. One can distinguish its three interrelated aspects: theology of children, i.e. their own theological reflection, children’s independent theologizing; theology with children, i.e. joint theologizing involving adults and children, asking theological questions and answering them; theology for children, i.e. deduction-free introduction of children to academic theology. The third dimension is not well developed theoretically. The present article outlines a discourse on its essence, criteria for the selection of contents and the way of their conveyance, as well as its significance for such areas of practical theology as catechetics or homiletics.

Wpływ teologii ludu na magisterium homiletyczne papieża Franciszka
Hajduk, Ryszard (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2022)
After the Second Vatican Council, the theology of the people appeared in Argentina. The task of the Argentinian theologians was to help the Church in Latin America to carry out a pastoral renewal taking into account the local cultural and religious context. Pope Francis, for whom the primary mission of the Church is to proclaim the Gospel, refers to this theological and pastoral concept in his universal teaching. In fulfilling her mission, the Church must refer to the experience of people and take into account all their needs. People themselves should be seen as the subjects of the proclamation of the word of God, because they constantly participate in dialogue with God, allow Him to shape their lives and contribute to strengthening the faith of the Church. Pope Francis, who devotes in his Exhortation Evangelii Gaudium a lot of attention to the issue of preparing and delivering the homily, shows how the life and faith of God’s people inspire the content of preaching, influence the homilist’s approach to the audience and help him speak in a language that is close and understandable to the addressees of the ministry of the word.

    Aktualizacja Słowa Bożego w przepowiadaniu
Dyk, Stanisław (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2022)
Without actualization, preaching loses its purpose, becoming unattractive, and the very word of God is perceived by the listeners as devoid of its saving power, now lifeless. The study confirms these theses. The article organizes and synthetically presents the most important issues related to actualization: the theological foundations of actualization, the main principles of its implementation; biblical models of actualization as models for modern preaching; the updating process. Finally, a descriptive definition of actualization was formulated.
