Pozycja Liturgia jako przestrzeń modlitwy i uświęceniaPrzybecki, Adrian (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2019)The most important tasks of the liturgy include the sanctification of man and bringing him to salvation. It is a model for all personal Christian prayer and the source of supernatural grace. In the centre of the liturgical life of the Church there is a Holy Mass. Thanks to her, we can see the unspeakable beauty of God’s love. Through the celebration of the liturgical year, we can meet Christ who is following the path of mercy to enable people to come closer to the saving mysteries of his life, death and resurrection. Not without significance is also Sunday, understood as a link integrating the entire liturgical year and the foundation of believers’ faith. In turn, studying the Eucharistic Prayers leads to the conclusion that they contain all the elements necessary for authentic spiritual life. On the other hand, Holy Communion and Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament in the area of the Catholic liturgy increase Christian piety and teach attitude of constant presence before God, and ultimately lead to personal conversion, or rediscovery of the treasure of faith.Pozycja Eklezjalny wymiar liturgii według Josefa Andreasa JungmannaWorbs, Marcin (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2019)The article presents J.A. Jungmann’s reflections on the ecclesial dimension of the liturgy. After presentation of how this author recognizes the liturgy subject in the priestly Church community, his comments on the liturgy as an expression of the Church’s faith were discussed. Referring to history, Jungmann emphasizes that from the very beginning, liturgical forms have usually had the community nature, and that the entire Church is activated in the liturgy celebration. The analysis of this author’s liturgical and ecclesial thought allows to put him among those who made a significant contribution to shaping the awareness that the liturgy is a celebration of the integrally understood Church community, as well as a specific expression and a standard of his faith, according to the bi-directionally understood old principle lex orandi – lex credendi.Pozycja The Vision of Eschatology in the East Syrian QurbanaPittappillil, Francis (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2019)Eschatological hope is inherent in the East Syrian Qurbana through which the Church contemplates and foretastes the second coming of Christ in glory (parousia). The main thrust of this paper is to find out the eschatological allusions seen in the prayers, hymns and rubrics of the different sections of the East Syrian Qurbana. In the liturgy of the Word, we can see many prayers and hymns with clear eschatological reflections on heaven, death, resurrection, purgatory (Beth Purkana), parousia and final judgment. The anaphoral part of the Qurbana carries eschatological views especially in its G’hanthas, Sanctus and Epiclesis. The Liturgy of the Holy Communion presents the ultimate eschatological fulfillment of the faithful and the Church in terms of the Eucharistic Communion.Pozycja Liturgia pogrzebu i zwyczaje z nim związane na przykładzie wybranej parafii diecezji Metz we FrancjiSoprych, Leszek (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2019)The article presents postconciliar funeral rites practiced in the Church of France. The author discusses the ritual, which has been prepared in the spirit of the Vatican Council II renewal and adapted to the needs of the Roman-catholic Church in the French-speaking countries. The main exposed issue is the theology of these rites, associated with the Christian initiation displayed in eschatologica context. There has also been presented a specific sociological and religious situation of the faithful in France and their influence upon the quality of participation in the funeral liturgy. The author, as a parish priest, refers to his own experience while indicating a practical application of this rite into pastoral reality of the parish of Koenigsmacker (Metz diocese), considering a strong involvement of the lay in the arrangement and celebration of funerals.Pozycja Processio in ramis palmarum – typy obrzędu w średniowiecznych źródłach polskichZiętek-Krysiński, Piotr (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2019)After analysing more than forty medieval texts describing the course of the palm procession in Poland, we come to the conclusion that this rite developed in two ways. There were two types of celebrations besides each other: the adoration type – originated in Cracow, but later existed only in Silesia; and the mystery play type – Płock’s provenance, although popular in all the Polish dioceses of that time. The first type was not a very spectacular praise of Christ the King, while the second type was a skilfully crafted mystery play of Holy Week, which most of all it was supposed to give the participants the aesthetic impression. It should be added that the adoration type has not changed much from its beginning, but the mystery play type has gained as many variants as there were the major liturgical centres. Both forms of rituals were celebrated until the time of reforms of the Council of Trent, and some relicts survived in Poland until the mid-twentieth century.Pozycja Muzyczne katedry Charlesa Tournemire’a – Deux Fresques Symphoniques Sacrées pour orgue, op. 75 i 76Raba, Bogusław (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2019)Dedication of the musical work to the temple has become a peculiar tradition of the French organ music of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. For Charles Tournemire, like many artists of that time, this inspiration resulted from the sense of communing with the unusual phenomenon in Western culture. Religious renewal, the emergence of mystical and esoteric trends, and the symbolist idea of the correspondence of the arts stimulated multidimensional interests of artists in the Gothic cathedral. The article examines the relation of artistic correspondence between the works of Tournemire and cathedrals, which he chose as the object of dedication. The character of these relationships is determined by the following elements: 1. essential aspects (significant relationships): ekphrasis, transmedialisation; 2. occasional aspects (contingent connections). Tournemire chose churches of special importance: value, function, history. The Symphonic frescoes are the fullest expression of Huysman’s vision of “sounding cathedrals” in the work of Tournemire. Nevertheless, dedications of earlier compositions and mature music testify, that he was under the constant influence of this kind of stimulus. The gradual development of his own musical style, based on topic expressing connection with the medieval cathedrals and its immaterial attributes (Gregorian chant, reverberation, spiritual atmosphere), has led to the interoration of this type of symbolic structure as attributes of his own musical language. The lack of sharp references to the chu rches to which the works were dedicated makes us recognize them more as an expression of transmedialisation than of ekphrasis, based on the French symbolist idea of correspondance des artes.Pozycja Kantata „De profundis” Marka Czerniewicza – refleksja chrześcijańska w dźwiękowej konkretyzacjiSchiller-Rydzewska, Joanna (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2019)Cantata „De profundis” of Marek Czerniewicz is another musical piece commenting contemporary events in the Middle East area. These topics very important for composer, it’s stimulating his imagination. Implementing this idea a composer uses every kind of musical sounds. Organizing of these sounds is connected with the dichotomy of pure, God world of sacrum, and barbarian, human world of profanum. This fundamental idea allows the composer creating piece between two different categories. Basic for this concept is freely way of using sources of sounds, which is important feature of creating meaning of musical piece. Historię osadnictwa, losów rodzin, zachowania języka i kultury materialnej ujmują publikacje, niejednokrotnie niezwykle szczegółowe. Pozycja El Greco – teologia ukryta w geścieChałupniak, Radosław (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2019)In the paintings of El Greco one can observe various important gestures. One of them appears repeatedly – a mysterious gesture that almost like a signature can be found in many paintings of the artist: two fingers joined (middle and ring ones) and thumb, index, and little fingers separated from them. The specialists on the artistic creativity of El Greco present different solutions (an oratory gesture, a gesture of oath, typical for the Mannerists, a Jewish gesture, or an expiatory one connected to the spirituality of the Jesuits, a masonry gesture, one of mudras i.e. symbolic energetic gestures, a lactative gesture – pseudo-zygodactilic one). The author of the article indicates, first of all, the theological interpretation of the gesture: confession of faith in Triune God and Jesus Christ – God-man. The gesture was a kind of prayer of the artist, his standing in the presence of God and paying homage to the Highest. Placed in a sacred space it was designed to invite to enter the mystery of faith and actively join the liturgy of the Church that combines the visible and invisible, real and symbolic, natural and supernatural world.Pozycja Kościół p.w. św. Jadwigi Śląskiej (kościół przyzamkowy) w BrzeguTechmańska, Anna (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2019)The construction of the church of St. Hedwig of Silesia in Brzeg started in the first half of the 14th century. After its edification the church was extended and in 1371 it became a collegiate. From the mid-sixteenth century served the Protestant community and was also a princely necropolis. In 1677 the church has been restored to the Catholics as their parish church. It was partially destroyed during the battle of Małujowice (1741). Rebuilt in the second half of the 18th century. From 2018, together with the Brzeg Castle the church received the title “Monument of History”.Pozycja Dzieła zebrane kard. C.M.
