Pozycja A Contemporary View on the Immanent and Economic Aspects of Selected Trinitarian Terminology of the CreedWołowski, Lech (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2024)The article examines the immanent and economic aspects of selected Trinitarian terminology of the Creed. The analysis is focused on six expressions arranged in three groups. The first concerns the omnipotence of God the Father, the “almighty” (παντοκράτωρ) “creator” (ποιητής). The second regards the incarnation of the Son of God “the only begotten” (μονογενής), who “took flesh” (σαρκωθέντα) and “was made man” (ἐνανθρωπήσαντα). The third considers the action of the Holy Spirit “the giver of live” (ζωοποιός). The novelty of this approach consists in re-reading of the ancient conciliar texts in the context of the overall development of Christian reflection with a special emphasis on contemporary dogmatic thought (mainly of H. de Lubac and H. U. von Balthasar). The main results include: a clear distinction between immanent almightiness and economic creative omnipotence of God the Father (section 1), a deeper understanding of the correspondence between Christological and Mariological aspects of the mystery of incarnation (section 2) and a new perspective on immanent dimension of the characteristics of the Holy Spirit as the giver of life (section 3).Pozycja The Technological Revolution as a Challenge for the Catholic Church in the United States of America in the 21st CenturyRozborski, Grzegorz (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2024)The aim of this article is to examine how the technological revolution has become a defining feature in contemporary American society, influencing the religious life of the faithful. It explores the challenges the Catholic Church faces in fulfilling its mission within this technologically immersed context. The study addresses the following questions: What impact does the technological revolution have on the religious life of the faithful in the United States? What challenges does it pose to the Catholic Church in the 21st century? How can the Church fulfill its mission in American society? Answers to these questions are derived from an analysis of Church documents, especially teachings of the Church in the United States, and publications by American theologians and sociologists. The article starts with a brief introduction, followed by an analysis of the historical context of the technological revolution. It then examines the use of technology in improving human existence, as well as the humanizing and dehumanizing effects of technology. The dangers of misusing digital technology and its impact on religious life are also discussed. The final section offers an analysis of proposals for the pastoral activities of the Church in the USA in response to the challenges of the technological revolution.Pozycja Motywy prawosławne w twórczości teologicznej s. Marii Celeste Crostarosa (1696-1755)Berechowska, Bożena (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2024)Blessed Maria Celeste Crostarosa, an Italian mystic of the eighteenth century, is the founder of the Order of the Most Holy Redeemer. Her rich theological work mainly consists of spiritual notes recounting her own mystical experiences, autobiography, and spiritual guidance directed primarily towards the sisters of her own order. While her teachings were in accordance with the official doctrine of the Catholic Church of her time (thoroughly examined by the Holy Office even during Crostarosa's lifetime), it is astonishing how she described her spiritual experiences. She often used concepts and terms characteristic of the theology of Eastern churches (including Orthodoxy). During a period of prevailing rigorism, she presented a spirituality that was open, cheerful, caring for the salvation of every human being, even those outside the Catholic Church, thus clearly surpassing her times. The article highlights certain aspects of Crostarosa's teachings that can be considered Eastern Orthodox motifs, such as the way she described the Holy Trinity, the relationships within the Trinity, the relationships with each Person of the Holy Trinity, deification, the path to knowing God – positive (kataphatic) and negative (apophatic). This is done to show that her mysticism and teachings transcend denominational boundaries, even anticipating the future and remaining relevant. The article also points out passages from Maria Celeste's teachings that remarkably resemble the thoughts of the Eastern Orthodox saint Symeon the New Theologian, whom she could not have known. The aim is to demonstrate the universality of MCC's teachings, which are still relevant today and not only for the sisters of the Most Holy Redeemer Order.
