Przed narodzinami. Powinności kobiety brzemiennej w świetle poradników z końca XIX i początku XX w.

Abstract

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest próba rekonstrukcji zaleceń kierowanych do kobiet ciężarnych na terenie ziem polskich w ostatnich dekadach XIX w. i w początku XX. Podstawę źródłową dokonanych ustaleń stanowi literatura o charakterze poradnikowym w zakresie zdrowia i higieny, a także edukacji dziecka. Odtworzone zostały porady ówczesnych lekarzy, higienistów i teoretyków wychowania dotyczące higieny kobiety brzemiennej, których przestrzeganie przyczynić się miało do dobrego stanu zdrowia matki, w szczególności zaś korzystnie wpływać miało na stan zdrowia i całe przyszłe życie noszonego w jej łonie dziecka.The objective of the present article is trying to reconstruct the recommendations directed to pregnant women on the Polish teritories in the last decades of the nineteenth century and at the beginning of the twentieth century. The basic source of the achieved directions is guide type literature in the field of health and hygiene as well as education of a child. The recommendations of the then doctors, hygienists and education theoreticians dealing with the hygiene of the pregnant woman, complying with which was to contribute to the good state of mother’s health and the whole future life of the child carried in her womb.
