Abstract

Artykuł porusza wybrane zagadnienia dotyczące powstania monastycyzmu. Wskazuje na proces wyodrębnienia się tego ruchu z szeroko rozumianego ascetyzmu. W artykule pojawia się źródłosłów słowa mnich. Ważnym zagadnieniem w tematyce artykułu są także biblijne przesłanki wyjścia na pustynię.The author discusses selected issues related to the origins of monasticism. He indicates the process of emergence of this movement from broadly understood ascetism. In this article there also appears the origin of the word monk. Also, the important issue the article deals with is the biblical exodus to the desert.
