During the interwar period he was one of the leading activists of Catholic organizations such as Catholic Academic Youth Association “Odrodzenie” (Revival), Catholic Writers Association, Association of Polish Catholic Intelligentsia,“Pax Romana”. This article presents the relations between professor Halecki and Cardinal August Hlond who at that time was the Primate of Poland. It was based on a questionnaire completed by Oskar Halecki in 1968 during the preparation for the beatification process of Primate Hlond. „Notes…” ks. Teodora Wieczorka SDB (1888-1957) – (Cz. I). Autor i tekst
Szlufik, Piotr (Wyższe Seminaria Duchowne Towarzystwa Salezjańskiego, 2015)
Many saints have left behind journals of the soul, autobiographiesor spiritual notes. The authors of this kind of writings can also be found among the Salesian Family, e.g.: blessed. Rev. B. Markiewicz, blessed A. da Costa, blessed Rev. J. Kowalski, blessed A. Marvelli and Rev. S. Mannucci. The Notebook…, authored by a Salesian missionary in China, Rev. Wieczorek, is an interesting example of such spiritual writings. This article is the first part of the study of the manuscript. It undertakes two topics: presentation of the author’s biography (family environment, stages of formation) and presentation of the text (physical description, authorship, chronology, purpose and method of record keeping, internal structure, the history of the manuscript, subsequent editions and commentaries).

Cipriano Vagaggini et Salvatore Marsili au siecle des grands liturgistes entre le IIe et le IIIe millenaire
Sodi, Manlio (Wyższe Seminaria Duchowne Towarzystwa Salezjańskiego, 2015)
The turn of the second and the third millennium was an invaluable period to serve for an evaluation of the life and vitality of the liturgy. It is, therefore, important to remember those people who made a significant contribution to the enactment of the Second Vatican Council and subsequent development of the liturgical renewal movement within the Church. Hence, the idea to present the thought and works of Cyprian Vagaggini and Salvatore Marsili, two Benedictine monks who played a crucial role in the restoration of the liturgy to people, and in making it more understandable. The remembrance of their work is a call for increased efforts, now and in the future, in accordance with those perspectives which contribute to the development of liturgical theology.

Kierownictwo duchowe w życiu św. Jana Bosko
Gocko, Jerzy; Centnar, Paweł (Wyższe Seminaria Duchowne Towarzystwa Salezjańskiego, 2015)
The subject of the article is the issue of spiritual direction in the life and activity of St. John Bosco. The first part discusses the experience of spiritual guidance received by John Bosco in his childhood. Deprived of paternal protection at the age of two, Don Bosco was himself in need of wise mentors and masters in order to become later a spiritual guide for his own pupils. Next, the article points out the specifics of Don Bosco’s spiritual direction offered to the youth of the oratory. The specific character of his methods stemmed up primarily from the type of his own spirituality as well as personal experience and moral exemplars followed by the Saint. The last part of this publication presents selected forms of Don Bosco’s spiritual direction, both at the sacramental and extra sacramental level.

Towarzystwo Salezjańskie wobec wyzwań edukacyjnych w latach 1918-1939
Niewęgłowski, Jan (Wyższe Seminaria Duchowne Towarzystwa Salezjańskiego, 2015)
After regaining its independence in 1918, Poland commenced a long-lasting reconstruction of the state structures. The legacy of three partitions significantly hindered this process. The Salesian Company, together with the whole society, participated in the creation of schools and protective structures. Until 1918, the Salesians could only realize their charisma within the territory annexed by Austria. One of the first activities of the Company after 1918 was opening secondary schools. This was done at the request of the authorities and the Polish society. A majority of those schools were created in the twenties. Some struggled with many problems, such as lack of properly qualified personnel or financial difficulties. Despite many problems, the schools enjoyed rather a good reputation in the Polish society and facilitated acquiring the secondary education for a large number of Polish youth.

Komunia Święta i jej wspólnototwórczy wymiar w życiu Kościoła
Możejko, Jacek (Wyższe Seminaria Duchowne Towarzystwa Salezjańskiego, 2015)
Over the centuries, the issue of Holy Communion under both species has given rise to serious disputes. At the Vatican II Council, it was recognized as one of the most important elements leading the faithful to Christ. It is due to rich significance that this sacramental sign is endowed with. Holy Communion under both species allows the participants of the liturgy to take part in the Eucharist in a more perfect way. Consumption of the Body and Blood of Christ is a condition for the development of true inner life. Holy Communion reveals our profound union with Christ, who made a covenant in His own blood. Introduction of Holy Communion under both kinds facilitates a fuller participation in the liturgy of the Eucharist as it makes it easier for the faithful to experience the presence of Christ in the sacramental sign. Holy Communion taken under one form allows us to receive the whole fruit of the Eucharist, but receiving both the Body and Blood of Christ enriches and presents in the more perfect light the sign of the Eucharistic feast.

Pytania o tożsamość nauczyciela-wychowawcy w świetle badań młodzieży. Czy młodzież dzisiaj potrzebuje raczej trenera kompetencji, czy mistrza?
Mejer, Michał (Wyższe Seminaria Duchowne Towarzystwa Salezjańskiego, 2015)
The research made on the situation of today’s youth in Poland reveals a certain discrepancy. On the one hand, the youth are independent, entrepreneurial, they learn fast and quickly gain autonomy. On the other hand, however, they are often affected by emotional problems, aggression and immaturity. What, therefore, should the teacher be like? A classically understood master or one conforming to the five categories formulated by prof. Ferenz? Mass school can hardly take into consideration a student’s individual biography or respect his autonomy. The teacher, therefore, in addition to excellent communication skills, should possess the art of establishing interpersonal relationships with students. In this context, it is interesting to look at the idea of integral education of Herbert Franta.

    Aksjologiczny kontekst dzieciństwa
Marszałek, Lidia (Wyższe Seminaria Duchowne Towarzystwa Salezjańskiego, 2015)
The article undertakes the issue of universal values in the process of child development. The text is intended to demonstrate that during childhood children realize those values in the course of a natural development of their personalities. Consequently, we might argue that in addition to its “instrumental” meaning (involving preparation for adult life), childhood has a value in itself, like any other, unique period of human life. Therefore, “being a child” is not a state barely derivative from adulthood, an undeveloped form of life, but it is a perfectly complete state within the reality of children’s world and the ways in which the child experiences it. The article also aims at emphasizing the need to treat children as in a subjective way as agents and co-creators of their own childhood.

Salezjańskie misteria Męki Pańskiej – trzy współczesne sposoby scenicznej realizacji wydarzeń paschalnych
Lach, Mariusz (Wyższe Seminaria Duchowne Towarzystwa Salezjańskiego, 2015)
Passion Plays staged in Poland have a long history dating back to the Middle Ages. Dramatic presentations depicting Jesus Christ’s suffering and death have been subsequently undertaken over the ages. Polish Salesians, working in the field of education and evangelism, especially among young people, have also repeatedly directed paschal events with the help of Polish youth and for them. The three contemporary, but very different presentations of the mysteries of the death and resurrection of Christ, prepared by three different Salesian environments, in Czerwińsk, Krakow and Poznan, indicate a continuous need of updating this topic. Realized with the use of various modern theatrical forms and means under the supervision of professionals in theatre arts, they still attract a wide audience.

Il substrato “mistico” della spiritualita attiva di Don Bosco
Giraudo, Aldo (Wyższe Seminaria Duchowne Towarzystwa Salezjańskiego, 2015)
Don Bosco has been classified as a modern saint, a model for a new type of priest-educator. His mission had an entirely social character, because he was a practical man, attentive to the needs of everyday life. Yet, his prodigious activity was coming out of the love of God, burning in him, and it was an effusion of spiritual light that he derived from God’s presence in his soul. That is why, Don Bosco never considered any activity as a threat to spiritual life: when one answers the call of the Lord with a total sacrifice of himself, everyday work becomes a prayer. Don Bosco’s industriousness originated in his perception of human history through the prism of the faith, in deep understanding of the mystery of the Redemption and in full awareness of the mission entrusted by God to priests. This perspective allowed him to maintain a balance between tireless apostolic activity and inner concentration. The love of God fuelled his pastoral zeal and gave him this particular gift of spiritual wisdom, that allowed him to educate the youth towards the life of grace and charity. He was able to inspire a desire for sanctity in the youth, to bring them into communion with the love of God and towards a high level of virtuous perfection. The mystic tension underlying his spirituality did not alienate him from the challenges of everyday life or relations with other people. Inspired by St. Francis de Sales, Don Bosco insisted on accurate and willing fulfillment of one’s duties according to one’s social role, on asceticism revealing itself in joyful adaptation to the reality of everyday life and on the understanding of the importance of the apostolate among one’s peers. At the same time, he taught the young a prayer of “simple union” and obedience to divine inspirations, showing them how to translate these into a life of virtue and good works.

Recognition of the sources and effects of social orphanhood implies a number of issues aimed at assessing the scale of this phenomenon. This knowledge is a prerequisite for the initiation and designing of support actions for families at different levels of dysfunctionality. The goal of conducted research was to verify the thesis that implementation of preventive methods of family support adapted to its specific problems and needs, forestalls separation of children and their families. The object of the research was to analyse to what extend environmental TPD centres realize the statutory assumptions regarding child and family care.
