Abstract

Thomas Aquinas presents a disputation between Ps. Dionysius and his opponents concerning a use of the name „love” in a Bible, as a name of God. Some people think the name „love” means only corporal love. Nevertheless, Ps. Dionysius defends a biblical custom to use this name in this context, and presents the reasons. According to Thomas Aquinas in the Bible God is called the „love” and the „object of love” It demands explications that Aquinas delivers. These explications allow to understand a real nature of love that is identified with the different kinds of movement in the universe. To describe a real nature of divine love Thomas Aquinas uses the description of the love present in the creature, i.e. effects, proprieties, and the process of love.
