Abstract

The author clearly distinguishes between the Revelation given by God’s Word and the possibility of recognition of the Creator with the natural light of the intellect based upon things created. The latter is termed by him, after cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, “self-manifestation of God” The author performs a detailed analysis of biblical texts of Romans 1,18-21 (a dogmatised text) and Wisdom 13,1-9. He also refers to two classical texts by Augustine (Confessions 10,6; Sermons 241,2) as well as to the characteristic poem “The Absolute Master” by the Polish poet Adam Mickiewicz.
