Pozycja Elementy semantyczne teorii prawdy u św. Tomasza z AkwinuBartoś, Tadeusz (Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Kardynała Stefana Wyszyńskiego w Warszawie, 1999)The Thomas Aquinas theory of the truth can be interpreted in the light of the contemporary semiotics. Such an approach needs an assumption of the existence of the parallel between his concept of the truth, understanded as a function of the mind, and a modem logical way of describing this notion, focussed on the linguistic characteristics. To develop this idea we need to assume an isomorfic interdependence between process of cognition and language processes. There are three functions of the mind corresponded to the parallel levels of the language: (1) creating a notion – creating a name; (2) an operation on the notions – building the sentences; (3) confirming the effectiveness of such an operation – semantical truth. The other parallel deals with putting together the Aquinas concept of the truth with Tarski’s semantical approach: (1) a possibility of the cognition ≡ an ability to create the species intelligibiles and to operate on them ≡ an existence of the sentential function; (2) a fact of the cognition ≡ a fulfilment of the ability to create the species intelligibiles and to operate on them ≡ a satisfaction of the function by the variable.Pozycja Jedność Boga na tle teorii całości i części w „Komentarzu św. Tomasza z Akwinu do «De divinis nominibus» Pseudo-Dionizego AreopagityBartoś, Tadeusz (Akademia Teologii Katolickiej w Warszawie, 1999)A theory of the „totality and pan” plays an imponant role in Thomas Aquinas writings. This theory is specially connected with his way of applying logic that creates a high level of generality, characteristic for Aquinas methodology. There are two types of the totality: „totalitas quidditatis”, that has a modem equivalent, sei. abstract set, and „totalitas quantitatis”, with his equivalent: aggregate. The theoretical source for theory of the „totality and part” is a notion of „unity”. A unity is considered as a cause of all beings, and that is why identified with God. As such God’s Unity is a result of negation of every sort of partition, which is characteristic feature of all created being.Pozycja Wybrane zagadnienia teologicznie i filozoficzne pojawiające się w kontekście użycia nazwy „miłość” w odniesieniu do Boga w „Komentarzu św. Tomasza z Akwinu do «De divinis nominibus» Pseudo-Dionizego Areopagity”Bartoś, Tadeusz (Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Kardynała Stefana Wyszyńskiego w Warszawie, 2000)Thomas Aquinas presents a disputation between Ps. Dionysius and his opponents concerning a use of the name „love” in a Bible, as a name of God. Some people think the name „love” means only corporal love. Nevertheless, Ps. Dionysius defends a biblical custom to use this name in this context, and presents the reasons. According to Thomas Aquinas in the Bible God is called the „love” and the „object of love” It demands explications that Aquinas delivers. These explications allow to understand a real nature of love that is identified with the different kinds of movement in the universe. To describe a real nature of divine love Thomas Aquinas uses the description of the love present in the creature, i.e. effects, proprieties, and the process of love.
