Pozycja Patriotyzm polskiej młodzieży na emigracji i rekrutacja do Armii Polskiej we FrancjiJaworski, Piotr (Instytut Teologiczno-Pastoralny im. św. bpa Józefa Sebastiana Pelczara w Rzeszowie, 2022)The outbreak of World War I. The Polish Army of General Józef Haller, also known as the “Blue Army”, created in France at that time, was one of the largest Polish armed formations in exile at that time. Polish volunteers who came to France from different parts of the world are not only an eloquent symbol of the ever-living idea of the fight for independence, but also a very strong support for the army that was already forming in independent Poland, fighting for the final shape of the borders of the Republic of Poland. The personal cards of many Polish volunteers, deposited at the Museum of Romanticism in Opinogóra, reveal their origins and history, in which the struggle for the homeland is also inscribed. There is no doubt that this great patriotic uprising had its foundations in shaping patriotic attitudes among Poles scattered all over the world. Much of this is due to the Church, individual parish communities, as well as church groups and associations. A sad epilogue is, unfortunately, the marginal treatment of Polish volunteers fighting in General Haller’s Army by the authorities of now independent Poland. One of the consequences of these unpleasant decisions and the attitude of the rulers was a much smaller number of volunteers who were in exile and joined the fight for the Polish cause during the Second World War (1939-1945).
