Pozycja Chleba naszego powszedniego daj nam dzisiajRatzinger, Joseph (Wydawnictwo Pallottinum, 2017)The purpose of this article was to present the theology of the fourth request of the Lord’s Prayer. The fourth prayer, Our Father, seems to us the most „human” of all requests. The Lord, who directs our views on that, what is essential, on „the only necessary”, knows about our earthly needs and recognizes them. He, who tells his disciples, „do not worry about your life, what you will eat” (Matthew 6,25), invites us to pray for food for us and to entrust our concerns to God in this way. Bread is „fruit of the earth and work of human hands”, but the earth will not bear fruit if it does not receive the sun and rain coming from above. This interaction of cosmic forces, which is not in our hands, is opposed to the temptation of our pride to provide ourselves with our own strength. This pride is brutal and cold, and ultimately destroys the earth. It cannot be otherwise, because it defies the truth, according to which we humans are to transgress ourselves only by opening ourselves to God; only under this condition we can become great and free and actually be ourselves. We can and should ask.Pozycja Das tägliche Brot für alleIngeborg, Gabriela (Wydawnictwo Pallottinum, 2017)The request for daily bread, which is the foundation of our physical life and survival, has always been normal. The request for bread is also included in the Lord’s Prayer. This prayer shows that Christianity does not know separation of spirituality and materiality, life and spirit. Both dimensions of our human existence are equally necessary and are therefore included in the Christian understanding of salvation. The human being does not live by bread alone, nor can he live without bread. A lack of food affects and destroys physical existence. What’s more, it humiliates people. An issue of food in the world, a request for daily bread for everyone, is therefore an extremely ethical and theological question. That is why the efforts undertaken today in the fight against hunger and malnutrition occurring in many countries of the world are so important. On też daje nam swoje Słowo i mówi „Ja jestem chlebem życia” – społeczność Eucharystii, abyśmy mogli wzrastać w wierze, nadziei i miłości. Pozycja „Plenty of food for everyone”: a Balthasarian look at Babette’s feastServais, Jacques (Wydawnictwo Pallottinum, 2017)W niniejszym artykule Jacques Servais rozważa ekranizację opowiadania Karen Blixen [pseudonim Isak Dinesen] z 1987 r.
