The main problem regards the question if the Christian view of the world could be compatible with metempsychosis and reincarnation. His activity has roots in the unity of the Divine Person's life. The first problem relates to the concordance of the history of revelation with that of salvation. Secondly, the harmony of salutary economy is analysed, considering that the Divine perfection affects the existence of the creation. Therefore, the sanctity of God requires an adequate co-operation of man with the incarnated Son of God. Finally, the baptism in the Holy Spirit is discussed. Christians are to be witnesses of the gift that descends from the Son and from the Holy Spirit, who together conduct the deeds of salvation. The Son's resurrection initiated a new stage of the Jesus' presence in the Spirit. The cross was not set aside. It stands firm in the Paschal mystery and receives new quality. Christians can rediscover Him in the Eucharist and in the daily life. The Spirit of Christ enables them to accept any form of sacrifice that has a dimension of the cross and of love.Pozycja Dwustulecie Kościoła Warszawskiego w zarysieMałecki, Henryk (Wydawnictwo Archidiecezji Warszawskiej, 1998)In the year 1998 we celebrate the bicentenary of the Archdiocese of Warsaw. This paper is an outline of the rich history of the local Church of the capital of Poland. In the 11th century was instituted the Archidiaconate of Czersk-Warsaw. In 1798 the pope Pius VI created the Diocese of Warsaw depending directly on the Holy See. In 1818 the pope Pius VII transformed the diocese into archdiocese and metropolitan see. In the 200 years of its history the local Church of Warsaw took part in the struggle for independence of the Polish nation. It contributed to the spiritual and intellectual development. The Ethiopic (Geez) collection is a translation from Arabic made in the 14th century, whereas the latter was in its turn provided on the basis of Coptic Acts, which go back to the fifth / sixth centuries. The items translated here are “The preaching of Simon the son of Cleophas”, “The martrydom of Simon the son of Cleophas”, and “The martrydom of Saint Luke”. The Polish translation is based on the Ethiopic text edition published by E.A.W. Cardinal Hlond served his Country difficult times: in the reconstruction of the independent republic after the I World War and in the first days of communist tyranny. However, he appears to be an extremely controversial personage. Those who deliberate on his achievements split into uncompromising critics or devotees that tend towards his beatification.Pozycja Kerygmatyczny charakter symbolicznej czynności zatopienia zwoju w Eufracie – Jr 51, 59-64Mrówczyński, Jarosław (Wydawnictwo Archidiecezji Warszawskiej, 1998)The article presents one of the symbolic actions performed by Jeremiah (Jr 51, 59-64) who threw the written prophecy against Babylon into the Euphrates. The main object of the article consists in showing how a symbolic act can play a role of an expressive form for the prophetic message. Prophetic acts should be differed from visions, prophetic oracles or parables. Neither have they anything to do with magic. They derive however their roots from magic actions practised in the Israeli cult. The story placed at the end of the oracles against Babylon had a different original place, i.e. it was put formerly between Jr 29; 1 34, 7. The event seems to be authentic and took place in about 594 B.C. Jeremiah sent to Chaldea with Baruch's brother Seraiah a „book” containing oracle against Babylon that was to be read in public and afterwards thrown into the river, symbolizing Babylon's fate due to the Jahwe's word of judgment set in motion. This symbolic act is an expressive mean of consolation directed to the Israelites living in exile in Babylon. The mutual relationship between the sign and its content in the symbolism of the above action is based on the embodiment in which the object used in the action (the roll with the oracle against Babylon and its drowning) represents the idea of the Babylon's destruction.
